France denied a report in Britain's The Daily Telegraph that it would be willing to give up its permanent seat at the UN Security Council.
France rebuked a report in the Daily Telegraph that the country’s seat on the United Nations Security Council could be put “at the disposal of the European Union”.
Contrairement aux affirmations du tabloïd anglais Daily Telegraph relayées ce matin, non, la France n’a pas proposé de laisser son siège au Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies. Il est à la France et le restera.

“No, France has not proposed giving up its seat on the Security Council”, according to a tweet from the Elysee. “It belongs to France and will remain so.”
British media including The Telegraph reported, on Wednesday, that France had proposed to give up its seat in the Security Council of the European Union if its governments back Emmanuel Macron’s plans for an EU army.
