NET Hunter, a newly-established cyber group, claimed it hacked into the Israeli Ministry of Security demanding the release of all Palestinian detainees or else the data obtained by them "will be sold to the pro-Palestinian states and part of them will be disclosed for the people of the world."

Before posting a video showing the hack and some of the documents obtained, the group said, "To support Palestine, court executors have the permission to negotiate over freedom of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the information," followed by a picture showing "their decision".

In its statement, the group reiterated Israeli crimes in Gaza including the crime of genocide, killing 31,184, and sexually assaulting women, among others. "Hack of Israel Ministry of Defense and publishing some part of their documents, is an answer to part of these crimes," their statement said, adding that they uncovered these crimes revealing all "allies and accomplices" of "Israel" to the world.

They said 500 Palestinian detainees must be freed, threatening, if not, to disclose all the documents obtained through the hack, exposing countries that claim to advocate human rights slogans, classified documents of the Israeli Ministry of Security, documents of cooperation agreement of states with "Israel", and data of senior Israeli officers and IOF manpower, alongside other important information.

Some of the documents listed by the group include:

  • Contracts between the Israeli Ministry of Security and Israeli contractors;
  • Contracts between the Israeli Ministry of Security and foreign countries, including details of the contract, date of contract, delivery date, contract correspondence, total amount ... etc.;
  • Classified information from the Israeli Ministry of Security;
  • Military blueprints and technical drawings of the Ministry;
  • List of the Ministry's manpower;
  • Databases of the Ministry;
  • Information about veterans and the injured.

NET Hunter further called on all people who live in countries that support "Israel" to gather in front of the main offices and headquarters of these companies and stop them from cooperating with the occupation as a contribution to the liberation of Gaza and putting an end to genocide against innocent children.

Israeli security sources confirmed to the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom on April 9 that the Ministry's computers had been breached.

It added that the data included "communications and orders," which the hackers have offered for sale for 50 bitcoins (about $3.45 million).

Not an isolated incident

A group of pro-Palestine hackers calling itself Cyber Toufan (Flood) hacked the websites of more than 40 high-profile enterprises in occupied Palestine, as reported on December 27.

Israeli media reported that in December, "Israel" was subjected to an unprecedented cyber-attack by the group.

Cyber Toufan executed a series of smart attacks, leaking data from several Israeli companies. The hackers succeeded in infiltrating the database, which allowed them to access private info about the companies and their clients.

According to estimates, information about millions of Israelis has been publicized, and the data in the cyber world have been described as "pure gold".

Around the same time last year, a massive data breach and subsequent data leaks affected 49 Israeli companies, including the "Israel Innovation Authority," "Toyota Israel," the "Ministry of Welfare and Social Security," "IKEA Israel," cybersecurity and geo-intelligence company "Max Security", and others, as reported by the threat intelligence platform FalconFeedsio.

According to a post by FalconFeedsio on X: “Contrary to popular belief, the cyber attackers did not breach all these companies individually. Instead, they targeted a single hosting company, Signature-IT, and allegedly stole data belonging to [over] 40 Israeli firms."

Signature-IT's e-commerce and website hosting services allow customers to use e-commerce and hosting services in the occupied territories.
