French FM, PA President meet in Ramallah to discuss Gaza
The Palestinian Authority's President reportedly highlighted, during a meeting with France's Foreign Minister the importance of humanitarian aid and medical assistance to Gaza.
Palestine's official news agency Wafa has reported that French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne has convened in Ramallah with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss developments regarding the situation in Gaza.
It was reported that Abbas highlighted the importance of amping up humanitarian aid and medical assistance to Gaza while expressing to Sejourne his complete rejection of any displacement attempt to Palestinians from Gaza, calling it "an integral part of the Palestinian state."
Abbas reportedly urged France to acknowledge the State of Palestine and support its full UN membership.
"This is the correct path to implementing the political solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative based on the two-state solution," Abbas stated.
Sejourne, following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had stated that "Israeli settler violence must stop" against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
During a Middle East tour aimed at a ceasefire in Gaza, Sejourne warned that "under no circumstances can there be forced displacement of Palestinians, neither out of Gaza nor out of the West Bank."

He further said, "The future of the Gaza Strip is inseparable from the future of the West Bank, we must prepare for this future by supporting the Palestinian Authority", adding: "It must renew itself and redeploy as soon as possible in the Gaza Strip, adding " where Hamas seized power in 2007."
The violence in the West Bank, reaching a more-than-15-year high this year, intensified further after "Israel" launched a new war in Gaza on October 7.
This follows the Biden administration relaying to "Israel" that it will enforce visa bans within the next few weeks on Israeli extremist settlers involved in violence against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank.
