Gantz told US he instructed IOF to prepare strike on Iran
Israeli Security Minister says he notified US officials about ordering preparations for a strike on Iran, amid Israeli threats of acting without US coordination if needed.
Israeli occupation's Security Minister Benny Gantz confirmed Friday that he told US officials he met in Washington this week that he had instructed the IOF "to prepare a strike against Iran," Israeli media reported.
On the sidelines of the Israeli American Council’s National Summit in Florida, the Israeli Minister told reporters that his instructions come to “prepare for the Iranian challenge at the operational level.”
According to an Israeli security official, Gantz informed US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the timeline of the attack.
Regarding the Vienna Talks, he claimed that the US and the Europeans "are losing patience" and that the negotiations did not achieve any progress, calling on the US to pressure Iran.
“There is room for international pressure — political, economic, and also military — in order to convince Iran to stop its fantasies about a nuclear program,” said Gantz.
Gantz revealed that US President Joe Biden's administration did not specify when it will withdraw from the Vienna Talks and said he was optimistic that the US would be considering a military choice if diplomacy failed.
“America is the strongest country in the world, and specifically because of that it does not rush to use force. It typically leaves it to later stages in the matter,” the Israeli security official pointed out concerning the US military choice.
In the same context, Eyal Zamir, said to be the next IOF Chief of Staff, disclosed at the Israeli American Council summit that "Israel" will act on its own against Iran if needed, even without US coordination.
Zamir said, “It would be a challenge to launch such an operation without coordinating with the Americans.”
The Israeli occupation security official noted that the military choice would be the last option if US diplomacy fails, the Israeli media reported.
