Gargash: UAE not to be part of anti-Iran front
Diplomatic advisor to the UAE President says Abu Dhabi is working to send an envoy to Tehran and declares that the UAE will not confront Iran.
On Friday, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, Anwar Gargash, announced that Abu Dhabi is planning to send an envoy to Tehran and rebuild relations with Iran.
Gargash stressed that "the UAE will not be part of an axis against Iran, despite once mentioning that Tehran's actions in the region are not contributing to diplomatic efforts," stressing that "Abu Dhabi is open to all options that protect the UAE without targeting a third party."
He pointed out that "the idea of entering in confrontation with Iran is not an approach the UAE would undertake."
This comes after US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that he discussed with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, during their meeting in Jerusalem, ways to integrate "Israel" into the region.
Lapid, on his part, called for the need to form a regional coalition to confront Iran.
Last month, UAE Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed, discussed with Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir-Abdollahian, the latest developments in the nuclear talks, stressing that "the UAE will not allow any sabotage from its territory against neighboring countries and will always maintain the security of its neighbors."
