The Ministry of Health in Gaza has announced that the total number of Palestinians martyred since the onset of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has reached 54,607, with 125,341 others wounded.

Since March 18, 2025, alone, the latest phase of attacks has resulted in 4,335 martyrs and 13,300 injuries, underscoring the accelerating human toll.

In just the past 24 hours, hospitals across the Gaza Strip reported 97 martyrs and 440 injured, as "Israel" continues its relentless bombings.

Health officials warned that the actual casualty figures are likely higher, with numerous victims still trapped under collapsed buildings and lying in the streets. Ongoing bombardment and widespread destruction have made it nearly impossible for ambulance and civil defense teams to reach many of the affected areas.

The situation continues to deteriorate as Gaza’s medical infrastructure struggles to cope with the overwhelming number of casualties and the severe constraints imposed by the blockade and constant airstrikes.

Israeli genocide continues

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that 26 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across various areas of the Gaza Strip since dawn on Wednesday, as the Israeli occupation continues its intensified assault.

In a related development, our correspondent reported that three Palestinians were killed and several others injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted a group of civilians near a Mosque in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

Among the harrowing massacres were the bombing of tents housing forcibly displaced Palestinians inside Al-Hanawi School, west of Khan Younis. The death toll from that strike reached 14 in a non-final toll.

Earlier in the morning, Israeli warplanes resumed bombardment of the al-Manara neighborhood and Qizan al-Najjar in southern Khan Younis. Concurrently, Israeli aircraft also targeted the Batin al-Samin area in the southern Gaza Strip.

In another attack, Israeli warplanes destroyed a hall near the European roundabout east of Khan Younis, according to Palestinian sources.

In Gaza City, Israeli occupation aircraft struck a home in the al-Sabra neighborhood, causing casualties and injuries.

Meanwhile, in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, a drone explosion was reported on the roof of the administrative building of Al-Aqsa Hospital, part of an ongoing pattern of targeting medical infrastructure in the besieged enclave.

Amnesty International: 'Horrific incident' requires urgent investigation

Amnesty International condemned, on Tuesday, the repeated Israeli targeting of Palestinians near "aid distribution centers," describing the attacks as “horrific” and calling for an immediate and independent investigation.

The organization emphasized that as an occupying power, "Israel" has a legal obligation to provide essential supplies to the population of Gaza and ensure that aid distribution occurs with dignity.

Amnesty also urged the international community to halt arms transfers to "Israel" and called for the unconditional lifting of the blockade on Gaza.

“The world has allowed the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza to continue for far too long,” the organization warned.

In a similar vein, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has raised alarm over the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, where families are facing acute shortages of food and essential supplies due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and military aggression.

In a statement on social media, UNRWA stressed that while millions around the world have access to daily necessities, basic hygiene items such as toothbrushes, soap, and sanitary pads remain out of reach for most families in Gaza.

Every day, millions have access to every single thing they need.

But in #Gaza, essentials like toothbrushes, sanitary pads, and soap are unavailable.

“Access to basics is a right, not a privilege,” the agency said, underscoring the severity of deprivation faced by Palestinians in the besieged enclave.

Gaza families skip meals, forage to survive

UNRWA reported that families across Gaza are resorting to desperate measures, including skipping meals and scavenging for discarded food, in an attempt to cope with severe food shortages.

“Every family in Gaza is struggling to secure their next meal,” the agency warned.

Every family in #Gaza is struggling to secure their next meal.

From searching for discarded food to skipping meals, this is how people are coping with severe food shortages.

We continue to call for a safe and unimpeded access to the people of Gaza that desperately need food.

— World Food Programme (@WFP) June 4, 2025

The humanitarian situation has been further exacerbated by repeated Israeli attacks on aid distribution sites, as well as the continued restrictions on the entry of relief supplies.

The agency reiterated its urgent call for safe and unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza, where more than two million residents are suffering under months of siege, displacement, and bombardment.

UNRWA is among the few remaining agencies still delivering aid on the ground in Gaza, despite mounting challenges, including the killing of over 180 of its staff since the start of the aggression in October 2023.

“We continue to call for a safe and unimpeded access to the people of Gaza that desperately need food,” the agency concluded.
