Hospitals received 59 martyrs, 2 of them extracted from under the rubble, in addition to 224 injuries in 24 hours, the Health Ministry in Gaza stated today. It emphasized that many victims remain buried in rubble or left on the streets as ambulances and rescue teams struggle to reach them.
The Israeli offensive that began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in a devastatingly high cumulative toll of 63,025 fatalities and 159,490 injuries, as of August 29, 2025. Since March 18, 2025, 11,178 martyrs and 47,449 injuries have been added to the overall figures, illustrating a severe intensification of the war in the recent period.
Furthermore, hospitals documented 23 new martyrs and 182 injuries from aid-related incidents in 24 hours, bringing the total number of "livelihood martyrs" to 2,203 and those injured to 16,228.
According to the Health Ministry, hospitals continue to record daily fatalities caused by famine and severe malnutrition, a majority of whom are children, while the entry of essential food, medicine, and the fuel required to operate health facilities remains blocked.
'Israel' intensifies its genocide, announces Gaza City a combat zone
A series of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn on Friday have killed at least 41 Palestinians and wounded dozens more, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent.
Israeli forces struck crowds near an aid distribution point on Salah al-Din Street, killing four people and wounding ten others, according to medical staff at al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat who received the bodies and are treating the injured.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes bombed the remains of a previously destroyed house belonging to the Qreinawi family in Block 7 of al-Bureij refugee camp, killing two.
These deaths come as "Israel" faces mounting pressure domestically and internationally to put an end to its genocide in Gaza, after it declared Gaza City, one of the last refuges for Palestinians in Gaza, a "dangerous combat zone."
"Starting today (Friday), at 10:00 (0700GMT), the local tactical pause in military activity will not apply to the area of Gaza City, which constitutes a dangerous combat zone," the IOF stated. The United Nations estimates that nearly a million Palestinians currently reside in Gaza City and the surrounding areas to the north.
