Gaza has 'no safe places', including shelters: UN spokesperson
The spokesperson Dujjaric's statements parallel those of Hamas spokesman in Lebanon Osama Hamdan, who earlier in the day revealed that nowhere in the Gaza Strip is safe."
According to UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric on Tuesday, the United Nations asserts that there are no secure areas in Gaza, even among shelters displaying the UN flag.
"There are no UN-designated safe zones in Gaza. I think that all my senior colleagues have been very clear, including the Secretary-General saying there are no safe places in Gaza," Dujarric told a briefing.
"There are shelters that fly the UN flag… But we have seen since the beginning of the conflict that those places that fly the UN flag are not safe either."
Dujarric was responding to a query about a statement made by Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the US State Department, the latter who suggested that individuals in Gaza should seek refuge in stores designated by the UN and listed on Israeli records as "deconfliction zones," which are not supposed to be targeted in military campaigns.

Dujjaric's statements parallel those of Hamas spokesman in Lebanon Osama Hamdan, who earlier in the day revealed that nowhere in the Gaza Strip is safe.
During a press conference, Hamdan detailed that "There are no safe zones in the entire Gaza Strip, despite the statements of the United States and the propaganda of the occupier [Israel], because the occupier has turned the entire territory into a zone of total war by its barbaric machine aimed at children and women."
Since the humanitarian truce expired last Friday, the Israeli regime has been engaging in renewed massacres all across the Strip.
As part of its renewed aggression, the regime has been targeting multiple hospitals and medical and civil teams, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
Our correspondent noted that a new Israeli massacre was committed at the gates of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
The Israeli occupation carried out strikes targeting the hospital's entrance, killing and wounding tens of civilians.
The resistance, on its part, has been carrying out several operations in retaliation to Israeli aggressions.
While the genocide is ongoing, the latest figures on the death toll in Gaza indicate that 16,248 have been martyred and another 43,616 have been injured.
