The video, published on Wednesday, documents the moment the ambush was executed in the al-Tannour neighborhood, east of Rafah.

The footage shows the use of various combat tactics, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs), anti-armor projectiles, and close-range machine-gun fire, resulting in Israeli casualties, both killed and wounded.
Operations inflicted direct losses
The ambush involved two simultaneous operations conducted on May 8.
The first targeted an Israeli engineering unit of 12 soldiers taking cover inside a house to carry out a demolition operation with anti-personnel and anti-armor projectiles.
The second targeted an infantry force of seven soldiers with a powerful explosive device near the Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz Mosque in the al-Tannour neighborhood.
Al-Qassam confirmed that the operations inflicted direct losses, adding that its Resistance fighters observed the dismembered remains of several Israeli soldiers.
Israeli military says two sergeants killed in Rafah
The Israeli military acknowledged the killing of a Sergeant from the 605th Engineering Battalion of the Barak (188) Brigade and another Sergeant from the Golan Brigade in the al-Qassam's ambushes in Rafah.
Israeli media described Tuesday as one of the most difficult days for Israeli forces in Gaza.
Al-Quds Brigades release footage of rocket barrage launches
In a related development, the Military Media of the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, released footage showing Resistance fighters launching rocket barrages targeting occupied Isdud, Askalan, Sderot, and Israeli settlements in the Gaza Envelope on Tuesday evening, in response to the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.

These operations come amid an ongoing escalation in southern Gaza, where Palestinian Resistance factions aim to obstruct the Israeli ground incursion and inflict maximum losses on the invading forces.
This comes as the Israeli occupation military continues its genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip since reneging on a ceasefire that brought two months of relative calm.
Gaza death toll nears 53,000
The Gaza Ministry of Health announced earlier on Wednesday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has now neared 53,000, with more than 119,800 injured. Since March 18 alone, over 2,799 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 7,805 have been wounded.
Hundreds of bodies remain under the rubble and in the streets, unreachable due to relentless Israeli attacks and debris blocking access.
Ambulance and Civil Defense teams face immense challenges in responding, as they too are targeted in what officials describe as a systematic effort to paralyze rescue efforts.
