Gaza war will not reduce rocket fire toward 'Israel': Israeli media
A senior officer in the Israeli occupation military says that even after two years, settlers of the Gaza Envelope may still hear sirens sounding.
The Israeli Army Radio quoted informed sources as saying that "even if the war ends with Israel successfully achieving its objectives, the firing of rockets toward the Gaza Envelope will remain possible."
Military sources told the Israeli radio that the intensification of ground combat and maneuvers "undoubtedly contributes to diminishing the military capabilities of Hamas in the Gaza Strip." However, assessments indicate that the possibility of a lone attacker launching mortar shells toward the Gaza envelope will remain viable.
Moreover, a senior officer in the Israeli occupation military suggested that even after two years, settlers of the Gaza Envelope may still hear sirens sounding.
In a related context, the former Israeli Deputy Chief of Staff, Yair Golan, said that "disarming Gaza will take years," pointing out that prolonging the state of emergency is "Netanyahu's way of escaping the terror of the law."
Golan considered that the current war is to Netanyahu's own benefit.
It is noteworthy that several leaders in the Israeli occupation entity also said that the objectives of the aggression launched by "Israel" on Gaza, as previously declared by Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - which include releasing all captives and "destroying Hamas" - "are not achievable."
Former Israeli occupation Prime Minister Ehud Olmert affirmed that there is still a long way to go before Hamas is defeated, noting that "Israel" expects to see more difficult days ahead.
In his article for Haaretz, Olmert considered that Hamas' defeat was declared unrealistic and unattainable ever since Netanyahu admitted it was the primary goal of the genocide in Gaza.
He added that anyone who thought of the idea of the destruction of Hamas could see that it is militarily impossible, even if the situation unfolding in the Gaza Strip had been different.
Olmert continued to reveal that Israeli intel had enough information to realize that there was a network of hidden tunnels beneath Gaza, since the previous war in 2014, which could aid Hamas in conducting a decisive operation that does not necessarily endanger them, confirming that "defeating Hamas is not easy."
On his part, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli military, Aviv Kohavi, said the war on the Gaza Strip "has essential objectives that are not easy to achieve," emphasizing that there are no magical solutions and no shortcuts to comprehensively dismantling Hamas.
Earlier on Saturday, Netanyahu said in a speech that "Israel" is engaged in "fighting on all fronts" in a war that is slated to last for months.
According to Netanyahu, the Israeli invasion of Gaza will continue until all the goals of the Israeli occupation forces' onslaught are achieved, which he said include the complete destruction of Hamas and the return of all Israeli captives taken by the Palestinian Resistance on October 7.
More time is needed to "win", he claimed, vowing that Gaza would "not be a threat to Israel" and that the Resistance factions there would be eradicated.
As he thanked the United States for standing against international pressure in the UN to end the aggression, he claimed that close to 8,000 Palestinian Resistance fighters were killed; a claim that could be debunked by simply looking at Gaza's demographic and the death toll of the Israeli onslaught.
