Germany has delivered a new package of military aid to Ukraine, including 66 MRAP armored vehicles, IRIS-T SLM missiles, and 230 drones of various types, according to an updated list of arms transfers to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The shipment includes 70 Vector reconnaissance drones, 150 HF-1 strike drones, and 10 unmanned surface vessels.
Berlin also provided ammunition for Leopard 2 tanks, four Kinetic Defence Vehicles, 38,000 rounds for Gepard anti-aircraft guns, and three Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzers, supplied jointly with Denmark and Norway.
The package includes 27,000 155 mm artillery shells and 1,000 122 mm shells.
Additionally, Germany supplied six Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles and four WISENT 1 mine-clearing vehicles, each with spare parts, as well as two mine trawls.
Ukraine also received 917 RGW-90 anti-tank grenade launchers, 3,769 G3 automatic rifles, and 800 MK 556 rifles.
Germany open to sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine: Merz
A couple of days ago, Germany's chancellor-in-waiting Friedrich Merz said his country is ready to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles, emphasizing the importance of strengthening Kiev’s position to push for concessions from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
When questioned whether he would act on his earlier push for Germany to deliver Taurus missiles—long requested by Ukraine— Merz indicated that he would support such a move if coordinated with European allies, stating, “Our European partners are already supplying cruise missiles,” during an interview for public broadcaster ARD.
With a range exceeding 500 kilometers, the Taurus missile system, developed jointly by European defense firm MBDA and Sweden's Saab, outranges Britain's and France's Storm Shadows as well as America's ATACMS, potentially enabling Ukrainian forces to hit targets far behind enemy lines.
Merz emphasized that “the British are doing it, the French are doing it, and the Americans are doing it anyway," adding, “This must be jointly agreed. And if it agreed, then Germany should take part.”
