Germany: Air defense shield to reach Ukraine in 'days'
Berlin announces it will be rushing to Ukraine air defense systems capable of protecting entire cities.
Germany's Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, wrote on Twitter on Monday that Berlin is doing everything "to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses," and called the latest attacks by Russia "despicable".
Berlin said on Monday that it was rushing to Ukraine air defense systems capable of protecting entire cities, following an attack earlier today by Russia that targeted Ukraine's infrastructure using precision-guided missiles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in a meeting of the Russian Security Council today that "a massive air, sea, and land-based precision long-range weapon was launched against energy, military command, and communications facilities of Ukraine."
Earlier in June, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised Ukraine the Iris-T systems, which he said are capable of shielding a large city from air raids.
Germany's army already has Iris-T missiles, but not the complete surface-to-air system.
