A senior source within the Palestinian Resistance's leadership confirmed to Al Mayadeen that Hamas has sent a delegation to Cairo on Saturday to inform the mediators of its firm stance on the July 2 paper. The delegation emphasized that this document serves as a document of reference for the implementation of a deal rather than a subject for negotiation.

In this context, Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau, also told Al Mayadeen on Friday that a delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya, the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau, is set to arrive in Cairo this evening. The purpose of the visit is to receive updates on the latest round of negotiations, he said.

Al-Rishq emphasized Hamas' commitment to the July 2 paper, which aligns with US President Joe Biden's announcement on May 31 and Security Council Resolution 2735, issued on June 10, regarding the war on Gaza.

He added that Hamas "reaffirms its readiness to implement the agreed-upon terms and demands pressure on the occupation to comply and cease obstructing efforts to reach an agreement."

Also on Friday, a senior Palestinian Resistance official told Al Mayadeen that the mediators have reached new formulas for approaching the contentious points between Hamas and "Israel".

According to the source, the points of contention are the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Netzarim and Philadelphi corridor and the Rafah crossing, as well as the issue of Palestinian detainees in a possible prisoner exchange deal.

"Israel" insists on rejecting [the names of] about 65 detainees with sentences of life imprisonment, the source indicated.

In turn, Hamas official Osama Hamdan told Al Mayadeen that Hamas firmly rejects "Israel's" continued control over the Philadelphi and Netzarim corridors and the Rafah crossing in the Gaza Strip.

Hamdan emphasized that the Palestinian Resistance demands "practical measures regarding what was previously agreed upon, not more negotiations," noting that Hamas has not yet received a definitive response regarding the Israeli position.
