Yemeni Foreign Minister Jamal Amer on Wednesday received a letter from Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Hamas movement in Gaza, delivered by the group’s representative in Sanaa, Moaz Abu Shamala.
In his letter, al-Hayya expressed Hamas’ deep appreciation for the sacrifices and steadfastness of the Yemeni people, describing them as “truthful brothers, Ansar Allah,” in the face of the Israeli occupation and its allies despite immense sacrifices, threats, and attacks.
He affirmed that Yemen’s geographical distance from Palestine has only strengthened its closeness to the Palestinian cause and its determination to continue supporting, aiding, and defending Gaza and Palestine.
Al-Hayya praises Yemeni commitment, resilience
Al-Hayya commended the resilience and commitment of Yemen’s leadership and people, led by Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, noting that Yemen’s positions “went beyond words and condemnations” to concrete actions, including massive marches, rocket and drone strikes against the Israeli regime and its interests, and the imposition of a naval blockade.
He stressed that Hamas and the Palestinian people would never forget Yemen’s historic stance in support of Palestinian rights and in condemnation of Israeli crimes.
Despite the ongoing suffering in Gaza, al-Hayya expressed confidence in God’s promise of victory and the eventual liberation of Palestine and occupied al-Quds.
Yemen stands with Gaza, Palestine
For his part, Minister Amer reiterated the unwavering stance of Sayyed al-Houthi, the Sanaa government, and the Yemeni people in supporting Gaza and rejecting any incentives to halt military operations.
He indicated that the fourth phase of Yemen’s support campaign may include “surprises that will astonish the enemy and its backers,” adding that the only path to resolution is to stop the aggression against Gaza and ensure unfettered entry of humanitarian aid, food, medicine, and fuel.
Amer praised the Palestinian resistance’s endurance in the face of war crimes and genocide, saying its survival for nearly two years demonstrates the Israeli occupation’s moral, political, and military failure. He called the Palestinian resistance “a symbol and icon of jihad in the world.”
Hamas representative Abu Shamala also hailed Yemen’s “honorable and unforgettable” humanitarian and political stance, praising the millions who continue to join weekly marches in support of Palestine and Gaza’s steadfastness.
