Hamas Politburo member debunks Israeli lies regarding al-Shifa complex
Hamas official Osama Hamdan underlines that the Israeli occupation forces' false pretext for raiding the al-Shifa Medical Complex has proven to be nothing but bogus.
The Palestinian Resistance is teaching the Israeli occupation lessons that will resonate with them for generations, Hamas senior official Osama Hamdan said Thursday.
During a press conference in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, Hamdan announced that the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, "succeeded in destroying and damaging 33 Israeli vehicles in the past 48 hours."
Al-Qassam said that since Wednesday morning, Resistance fighters were able to completely or partially destroy 11 IOF vehicles in all areas of the incursion into the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam also announced the targeting of an Israeli tank, two bulldozers, and a troop carrier, in addition to targeting a gathering of occupation forces in several areas in Gaza.
Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons "will be released, and we will not stop until their liberation," Hamdan underlined, saluting the resistance in the West Bank, which carried out an operation against the Israeli occupation forces in occupied al-Quds earlier on Thursday.
"We are still waiting for the implementation of the Arab summit's decision to break the siege and bring in medicines, food, and medical supplies to the [Gaza] Strip," he added.
The final statement of the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh emphasized the need to break the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and immediately allow humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, and fuel.
The statement called on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to initiate an immediate investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by "Israel" against the Palestinian people in all occupied Palestinian territories, including the eastern part of occupied al-Quds.
It condemned the "inhuman crimes and massacres committed by the colonial occupation government," rejecting the characterization of this retaliatory war as "self-defense" or justifiable under any pretext.
Only some rifles and an old shoe
The Hamas top official addressed the crime committed by Israeli forces in raiding the al-Shifa Medical Complex with tanks, confirming that the occupation, "after 20 hours of attacking all the hospital's facilities, came out with a ridiculous narrative," stating that they "found several rifles and an old shoe."
"The occupation may resort to a new fabrication to justify its actions after its narrative was exposed," Hamdan added. "The true scope of the crime in the al-Shifa Hospital is represented by the targets, the premature babies."
Additionally, Hamdan affirmed in his press conference that "the lies of the occupation and the US are evident to everyone."
Addressing the world, the United Nations, and the Red Cross, who "know about the crimes of the occupation but stand idle," saying "Israel" put 25 hospitals in Gaza out of service.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that Israeli occupation forces raided some wards of the al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza on Wednesday morning, and opened fire indiscriminately toward its windows and inside wards, adding that the occupation has cut off all communications to the hospital. Dozens of Israeli soldiers also stormed the emergency department at al-Shifa Complex.
The Israeli occupation's military claimed that its forces were "carrying out a precise and targeted operation" in a "specified area" in al-Shifa Hospital.
The Director-General of Hospitals in Gaza, Mohammad Zaqout told Al Mayadeen that Israeli occupation forces targeted the hospital's surroundings with several airstrikes, stormed the emergency department, and assaulted patients.
Our correspondent reported that several people were killed and injured in the Israeli raid on the hospital this morning.
The Government Media Office in Gaza confirmed that the Israeli occupation military informed the Ministry of Health in Gaza of its intention to raid the al-Shifa Medical Complex after besieging it for several days and continuously bombarding its buildings.
International committee needed
Hamdan echoes a statement previously made by Hamas, wherein it called for the United Nations to establish an international committee to roam and inspect all hospitals to verify the falsehood of the fabrications of "Israel" and the United States.
"The United States bears direct responsibility for enabling Israel's genocidal war on Gaza," the statement read.
Similarly, the Palestinian Mujahideen movement indicated that the US administration is paving the way for the Israeli occupation to commit more massacres against patients and injured Gazans, pointing out that Washington is complicit in the shelling and targeting of hospitals by adopting the occupation's false narrative.
The statements came soon after US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby claimed that Palestinian Resistance factions had a "command and control node" at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
"We have information that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad use some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including al-Shifa, and tunnels underneath them to conceal and to support their military operations and to hold hostages," he told reporters during a briefing.
"They have stored weapons there and they're prepared to respond to an Israeli military operation against that facility," he added.
