Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has called for intensified global mobilization against the Israeli occupation and its ongoing violations, coinciding with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, marked each year on November 29.
In a statement, the movement said this year’s occasion comes nearly fifty days after the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Hamas stressed that the Israeli occupation continues to undermine the truce “deliberately and brazenly” through artillery and air strikes, field assassinations, and the ongoing ban on the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave.
Hamas accused the occupation government of escalating aggression, settlement expansion, and Judaization policies in the occupied West Bank and al-Quds, calling it a blatant violation of international law and UN resolutions, and warning that the absence of accountability encourages further “terrorism, arrogance, and criminal schemes.”
The movement reaffirmed that “the land of Palestine, with al-Quds and the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque at its heart,” remains “Arab Palestinian land, where the usurping Zionist occupation has no legitimacy and no sovereignty.”
Israeli bombardment continues in Gaza
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said the Israeli occupation intensified its ground, naval, and aerial bombardment across Gaza overnight, continuing widespread destruction despite the ceasefire.
He stated that “the deliberate killing of two children this morning confirms that the war of extermination against the people of the Strip is still ongoing, and the gunfire has not stopped, but only its pace has changed.”
Qassem urged all parties overseeing the ceasefire, especially mediators and the countries that took part in the Sharm el-Sheikh meeting, to urgently intervene to halt the occupation’s violations and compel it to fulfill its obligations.
He cautioned that continued breaches threaten to collapse the truce entirely, deepening the humanitarian suffering of civilians in Gaza who remain without safety or protection.
Activists to express solidarity with Gaza
The Global Movement to Gaza announced coordinated protests across 13 major cities on November 29 to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The rallies aim to denounce Western support for "Israel’s" ongoing genocide in Gaza, now entering its third year.
Protests will take place in Berlin, Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Oslo, Vienna, Warsaw, Luxembourg, Cape Town, Washington, DC, Mexico City, and São Paulo.
Organizers say the coordinated actions are designed to expose the complicity of European and North American governments in "Israel’s" war on Gaza. The movement accuses these states of enabling the genocide through arms exports, political backing, and economic ties.
Death toll in gaza climbs amid global inaction
According to the group, these protests respond to continued violations by "Israel" of the ceasefire agreement and the failure of the international community to provide adequate humanitarian aid.
Despite pledges from global leaders, only a fraction of the necessary aid has reached Gaza, where more than 69,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023.
The movement says Western governments have failed to uphold international law or ensure the protection of civilians in Gaza. As a result, civil society action has become essential.
