The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, discussed the developments of the Israeli occupation attacks on the Gaza Strip and occupied Al-Quds with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
In a phone call, Haniyeh discussed with Cavusoglu the Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip and the settlers' incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, in addition to the developments related to the Egyptian-mediated ceasefire agreement between "Israel" and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement (PIJ).
Haniyeh called on Cavusoglu to put efforts to protect the Palestinian people, as well as their rights and sanctities, and not to allow the Israeli occupation to repeat its crimes and continuous attacks.
The Palestinian leader stressed that the Israeli acts will only increase the Palestinians' insistence on upholding their rights and sanctities, standing strong in their land, and confronting this occupation.
On his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister claimed that the Palestinian cause is a priority for Turkey, which stands permanently and firmly with the Palestinian people and their rights, especially in occupied Al-Quds, adding that Ankara does not accept changing the reality of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds.
Cavusoglu said that in his regular meeting with the countries' ambassadors in Ankara, he discussed developments related to the Palestinian cause and recent events, claiming that he will pursue his efforts with ambassadors and representatives of various countries.
It is noteworthy that the armistice agreement between "Israel" and the PIJ movement entered into force with Egyptian mediation, starting at 11:30 pm on Sunday.
This comes after Al Mayadeen private sources confirmed, earlier, that an agreement had been reached on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with the fulfillment of the PIJ's demands in full.
On Sunday, Haniyeh said that he was closely following up on efforts to put an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupation began on August 5 with aggression on the Gaza Strip on Friday, and Al-Quds Brigades announced that Tayseer Al-Jaabari, a military commander in the northern Gaza Strip, had been martyred.
Consequently, Al-Quds Brigades launched an operation in response to the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip, by launching salvoes of rockets toward the occupied Palestinian territories.
The latest tally showed that the death toll of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has reached 44 martyrs, including 15 children, and more than 360 injured.
