The head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, congratulated Lebanon on successfully concluding the parliamentary elections, which took place on May 15. Haniyeh stressed the importance of Lebanon's strength, stability, and security, considering that "all of this is strength for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people."

During his visit to the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun, Haniyeh reviewed the developments related to Palestine, Al-Quds, and Al-Aqsa and the repeated violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities.

Haniyeh said that the political changes in the region are not to the benefit of “Israel” despite all attempts to reshape their losses with normalization agreements. However, these agreements require that all Arab nations that have refused these processes strengthen their position in the face of such challenges.

The two also reviewed the issue of refugees; the need to improve their living conditions and address human rights concerns. Haniyeh emphasized that Hamas stands by the Palestinian’s right of return and they denounce any offer for settlement projects, displacement, or the establishment of an alternative homeland.

For his part, the Lebanese President welcomed the delegation of Hamas and stressed Lebanon's firm position in supporting the Palestinian struggle and righteous cause. Aoun praised the Palestinian resistance and its efforts considering the siege  of the Gaza Strip and he noted that "Our standing with you is our duty, and we cannot imagine Al-Quds without the Church of the Holy Sepulcher or Al-Aqsa."

Yesterday, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, received the head of the political bureau of Hamas and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they reviewed the various political and field developments in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region. They also discussed the development of the axis of resistance and the existing threats, challenges, and opportunities, with a decisive emphasis on the cooperation of nations and groups involved to serve the core goal which is Al-Quds, the religious sanctities in it, and the Palestinian cause.
