Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham Gunmen Shoot, Kill at Least 10 in Idlib
Local sources in Idlib countryside confirm to Al Mayadeen Net that more than 10 victims were shot by al-Julani's militants.
Local sources in Idlib countryside confirmed to Al Mayadeen Net that multiple victims were shot by al-Julani’s gunmen while they were harvesting olives in some areas in Idlib and its countryside.
The sources added that while the victims were picking olives from lands whose owners left the country years ago after the armed groups seized their areas, al-Julani's gunmen chased and shot them after they failed to capture them.
Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham claimed that the victims were looting the olive crop from the lands that became their property after their owners abandoned them, the same sources noted.
Furthermore, the sources stressed that al-Julani's gunmen prevented the victim’s families from burying them in Islamic cemeteries unless they pay fees.
The landowners entrusted the victims with picking olives and distributing the season’s shares to the poor and needy, the sources added.
The attack in Idlib left at least 10 people dead, sources reported to Al Mayadeen Net.
It is noteworthy to mention that Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham took control of all real estate whose owners fled to the areas under the control of the Syrian government and disposed of these properties by sale or lease.
