Hezbollah condemned on Sunday the US-UK aggression that targeted Yemen, which killed tens of civilians Saturday night, following the resumption of Yemeni military operations in the Red Sea targeting Israeli-linked vessels.
"Hezbollah condemns the blatant US-British aggression against dear Yemen, which targeted residential neighborhoods in the capital, Sanaa, and several other provinces, resulting in the deaths and injuries of innocent civilians," the Hezbollah statement reads, adding that "This aggression comes as a desperate attempt to deter this proud nation from continuing its heroic support for the Palestinian people and maintaining its pressure to lift the unjust siege on Gaza to allow the entry of humanitarian and relief aid."
The statement notes that the "targeting of civilians and vital infrastructure in Yemen once again reveals the true and ugly face of the US administration, which engages in terrorism and bullying against nations that oppose its hegemonic policies in the region and the world."
The Lebanese Resistance group described the US-led assault on Sana'a as a war crime and a "blatant violation of International laws and customs, and it aligns with the Israeli aggression that Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and the region have been facing under US support."
Hezbollah stated "The resilient Yemeni people, who have written heroic epics with the blood of their martyrs in support of the Palestinian cause and the besieged Gaza, and who stand firm under the wise and courageous leadership of their commanders, will not back down in the face of this cowardly aggression. Instead, they will continue their honorable role in defending the causes of the nation, growing only more determined and steadfast despite the ongoing unjust blockade.
The statement concludes by saying "We in Hezbollah reaffirm our full solidarity with brave and dear Yemen, both its leadership and its people, and call upon all free nations of the world and all resistance forces in our region and beyond to unite and stand as one against the US-Zionist project that targets the states and people of our nation. We also urge raising voices loudly against the Arab and international silence and the failure of international institutions that have surrendered to the unjust US administration."
This follows a series of condemnations by several parties, including Palestinian Resistance factions, Russia, and Iran, as Trump leads the assault on Yemen, which has targeted residential neighborhoods in Sana'a.
Condemnations of Yemen assault pour in
Hamas condemned the aggression against Yemen, describing it as "a blatant violation of international law, by attacking the sovereignty and stability of Yemen," while also expressing full solidarity with the country and its people in a statement published on March 15.
The Palestinian Resistance movement praised Yemen for its "actions in support of the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza in the face of the genocidal war," describing the war as "a disgrace to humanity."
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement condemned the aggression, calling it "audacious" support for the Israeli regime and its crimes against the Palestinian people, while emphasizing that "the attacks on Yemen come as protection for the Israeli entity and violate all those who stand by the Palestinian people who are facing the occupation's monstrous crimes."
The Popular Resistance Committees, in a statement, condemned the aggression, stating that "the American-British aggression against Yemen comes as part of the US bias and defense of the Israeli occupation entity," while asserting that the attacks will "not succeed in breaking the strong and steadfast will of the Yemeni people in confronting the forces of Zionist-American tyranny and arrogance."
In the same context, the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the US airstrikes on Yemen on Sunday, emphasizing that they violate the United Nations Charter while stating that the continued occupation and killings in Palestine, backed by the United States and the United Kingdom, are a source of "lack of security in the region."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that the use of force against Yemen must be brought to an immediate halt during a call with his US counterpart, Marco Rubio.
US-UK launch aggression on Yemen
The condemnations quickly followed the launch of US-led aggression on Yemen after the expiry of the 4-day deadline set by the Yemeni leader Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi for mediators to urge "Israel" to reinstate the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday the launch of military strikes against Yemen's Ansar Allah in response to the group's operations in the Red Sea, warning that if they did not cease targeting Israeli and Israeli-affiliated commercial vessels along with US warships operating in the region, "hell will rain down upon you."
"The Houthi attack on American vessels will not be tolerated. We will use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective," Trump posted on Truth Social.
The NYT reported that the United States launched large-scale military strikes against "dozens of targets" in Yemen, stating that US President Trump ordered airstrikes on alleged "radars, air defenses, and missile and drone systems," while Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that multiple airstrikes by the US-UK coalition targeted residential neighborhoods, leading to civilian casualties.
The aggression against Yemen follows the Yemeni Armed Forces' announcement of the resumption of military action against all Israeli-linked vessels in a designated zone in the bodies of water surrounding Yemen.
