Hezbollah launched a strategic and unprecedented operation in southern Lebanon on Sunday, destroying six Israeli Merkava tanks and inflicting heavy casualties on Israeli forces. According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent, the battle in the al-Bayyada area was marked by a masterful ambush, showcasing Hezbollah’s advanced military tactics.

In al-Bayyada, Hezbollah fighters lured Israeli occupation forces into a trap, allowing tanks and vehicles to move into the target zone. They then struck the forces, destroying four tanks in rapid succession and later a fifth tank attempting to recover the damaged vehicles. Another tank was destroyed near Deir Mimas.

The ground combat also included direct engagements with Israeli troops in northern al-Bayyada, where Hezbollah fighters inflicted further losses before withdrawing, according to our correspondent.

Simultaneously, Hezbollah escalated its missile operations, targeting multiple Israeli-occupied cities and strategic locations. Rockets struck Tel Aviv, Haifa, Asdod, and other occupied cities, while drone strikes and missile attacks hit key military bases.

The scale of the operations was unprecedented, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported today, with Hezbollah conducting 17 military strikes in northern occupied Palestine, targeting eight settlements and several military installations.

"An Unusual Day in Israel," is how Israeli media titled the events of the day in northern Palestine. Channel 12 reported that it was "a very intense day of Hezbollah rockets, covering vast areas."

The channel continued, acknowledging the difficulty of the situation: "The feeling in the north today is far from easy, with more than 250 rockets hitting the center, north, Haifa, and the Krayot areas. Unfortunately, in many regions, rockets fell, and the air defense systems simply didn’t work as usual."

For its part, Kan described the Hezbollah strikes today as "completely unprecedented," noting that "the spread of rockets across the north and deep into Israel is something we haven’t seen in a long time, in addition to the sheer volume of rockets."

The military correspondent for Walla sarcastically commented, "Didn’t they tell us that 80% of Hezbollah’s rockets and shells had been destroyed?"

According to a military source for Army Radio, sirens sounded more than 500 times since morning due to Hezbollah rockets.

The source further confirmed that approximately 4 million people have entered shelters since the morning.

Channel 12’s correspondent, Dafna Li’el, reported that the Israeli occupation government is holding a discussion today regarding ceasefire negotiations with Lebanon, highlighting the "growing pressure on Netanyahu," adding that "the field is speaking right now."
