Hezbollah planted "Soleimani's Olive" in South Lebanon
On the second anniversary of the assassination of Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani, Hezbollah honors his legacy by planting an olive tree in his name on the Lebanon-Palestine border.
On the occasion of the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani, today, Sunday, Hezbollah launched a planting campaign titled "Soleimani's Olive" along the Lebanon-Palestine border.
In a statement, Hezbollah indicated that "After the olive tree was planted in the garden, a group of resistance fighters took an oath and covenant to follow the martyrs."
Sheikh Nabil Qaouq, a member of the Central Council of Hezbollah, said "We are planting a tree here on the borders of Palestine in the place where Hajj Qassem Soleimani stood, to confirm that his presence and roots are growing in the fields of resistance."
Kaouk stressed that "We will confront the enemy in any coming war with 100,000 resistance fighters who carry the spirit, determination, faith, and will of Qassem Soleimani," noting that the slogan "'We are Qassem' means that millions from Iran to Afghanistan, Iraq to Syria, Lebanon to Gaza, have become one nation" - "today, they became Hajj Qassem Soleimani," he said.
"Here, authentic Arabism is embodied in the Arabism of Palestine, which was what Hajj Qassem instilled, and what Arabs of normalization failed to do," explaining that "When martyr Soleimani delivered missiles to Palestine, we challenged the Arabs of normalization to dare to send a single one to it."
Kaouk's speech was given in the Iran Garden in Maroun Al-Ras, a town in southern Lebanon. The speech was given alongside a special ceremony, with the presence of Hezbollah MP Hassan Ezzeddine, a number of scholars, and other personalities.
"We came to express our love and loyalty to martyr commander Hajj Qassem Soleimani, and to tell the enemy, two years after the martyrdom, that Hajj Qassem is the one who will lead the masses of conquerors to Galilee, God willing."
The commander of the Quds Force, Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Units, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, were martyred in an assassination operation by a US missile strike near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
