Hezbollah challenging Iron Dome, Israeli reports say
The Israeli Channel 12 reported on Wednesday that Hezbollah challenged the effectiveness of the Iron Dome by launching a barrage of large rockets toward the "Kiryat Shmona" settlement.
The channel pointed out that the objective behind this act is to increase the number of rockets that surpass the Iron Dome's interception capabilities, thereby preventing the return of settlers to northern occupied Palestine.
Military commentator Nir Dvori from the Israeli Channel 12 noted that Hezbollah's firing of a salvo of 30 rockets toward "Kiryat Shmona" on Tuesday was not aimed at Israeli settlers or military personnel. Instead, Dvori suggested that Hezbollah is attempting to test the limits of the Iron Dome's capabilities.
He said that the Resistance in Lebanon deliberately launches large salvos of rockets in an effort to overwhelm the Iron Dome's interception capabilities.
"When a large number of rockets is launched, it becomes challenging to track and intercept them," he noted.
Additionally, Dvori highlighted that Hezbollah is also trying to pinpoint the locations of Iron Dome batteries and target them. This tactic could potentially damage anti-air systems, hindering their ability to intercept rockets and thus preventing the return of settlers to the north.
