Hezbollah strikes Meron with rocket barrage, destroys various hardware
The Resistance group says it also targeted the headquarters of the Israeli 91st Division in response to the assassination of one its fighters.
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah announced Wednesday the launching of a series of operations against the Israeli occupation forces, most significantly targeting the Meron strategic air surveillance and control base.
In a statement, the Resistance group said that it had struck with dozens of Katyusha and heavy rockets, in addition to artillery shells, and existing and newly installed equipment at the base. The group confirmed that the attack resulted in completely disabling some of the site's hardware.

Another operation targeted the headquarters of the Israeli 91st Division at the Branit barracks using heavy-explosive Burkan rockets. Hezbollah confirmed a direct hit to the HQ.
The Resistance said that the Meron and Branit operations came in response to the Israeli assassination of one of its members late Tuesday, martyr Hussein Makki, after bombing his car in Lebanon's southern city of Tyre.
Additionally, the Resistance targeted technical systems and surveillance equipment at the al-Radar military site in the Israel-occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms.
Hezbollah announced that the operations are in support of the "resilient Palestinian people in Gaza," in solidarity with "their brave and honorable Resistance," and in response to the Israeli continued attacks on civilians and properties in Lebanese southern villages and towns.

Israel media reported that at least 50 rockets of various types were launched from Lebanon toward northern occupied Palestine.
A guided missile was also launched toward Kiryat Shmona, the report said.
Occupation settlements in the north are at "peak alert," it continued.
Meron, situated at the highest mountain in northern occupied Palestine, is the sole facility responsible for managing and controlling air operations toward Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and Cyprus, as well as the northern part of the eastern Mediterranean Sea basin. Moreover, this base acts as a central hub for electronic warfare interference in the mentioned directions, staffed by a significant number of elite Israeli officers and soldiers.
The base's giant advanced cameras and modern monitoring devices provide strategic oversight over a large portion of the line between Lebanon and occupied Palestine. It also covers Israeli sites and their corresponding locations in Lebanon.
The Resistance has targeted the base several times since the war began last October, destroying vital equipment.
