Hezbollah denied to the United Nations that it was behind the strike on the occupied Golan Heights, which killed nearly a dozen people, saying it was the result of an Israeli error.

The Biden administration has expressed significant concern that the recent attack on the occupied Golan Heights, which the US alleges was "from Lebanon", could escalate into a full-scale war between the Israeli occupation and Hezbollah, according to a report by Axios.

The US allegations come despite the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon denying to the United Nations that it was involved in the attack, with Axios citing a US official as saying Hezbollah officials told the UN that the Golan Heights incident was the result of an Israeli interceptor missile hitting the football field.

A US official, speaking to Axios, indicated that this incident might be the catalyst the administration has feared and tried to avoid for the past ten months.

BBC correspondent Nafiseh Kohnavard highlighted in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that many questions surround the events in Majdal Shams. While Hezbollah denies responsibility for the incident, the Israeli military maintains its accusations against the Resistance movement.

Kohnavard further noted that Hezbollah's attack pattern over the past ten months has primarily targeted military objectives. Even after attacks on the properties of settlers on the Israeli side, Hezbollah justified its actions by underlining that the targeted locations were used by Israeli soldiers, she said.

There are many questions regarding what has happened in Majdal Shams, Northern Israel.

Some sources are speculating if it was an “Iron Dome misconduct”?

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah fully denied any involvement and responsibility for a deadly strike on the village of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, contrary to Israeli claims about the matter.

Hezbollah stressed that it had nothing to do with the incident, completely denying all the "false claims" in that regard.

This comes after a missile of unknown origin struck a playground in the occupied Syrian village of Majdal Shams, which is made up entirely of Druze Syrians. The strike killed at least 10 civilians, including children, and wounded at least a dozen others.

Reports indicate that the explosion may have been caused by an Iron Dome anti-air missile that deviated off its course and struck the area, as per Israeli media.

'Israel' insists Hezbollah behind attack

The Israeli occupation has placed the blame squarely on Hezbollah for the attack, Dmitri Gendelman, an advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said Saturday.

"A rocket fired by Hezbollah hit children playing in a playground in the Golan Heights town of Majdal Shams. So far, nine Israeli children and teenagers have been killed and more than 30 injured ... Lebanon and the terrorist organization Hezbollah, acting under the guidance of Iran, are responsible for the aggression and its consequences," Gendelman said on Telegram.

In response, the Israeli occupation vowed to take action. "Israel intends to take stern measures in response," Gendelman added.

The Israeli occupation forces corroborated the accusations against Hezbollah, claiming that their situational assessment confirmed the rocket launch was carried out by the Resistance movement.
