Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Saturday that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is expected to act professionally and impartially and not to be bent to the will of global powers, Iranian sources reported on Saturday.

Raisi delivered the remarks earlier today during a meeting with IAEA chief Rafael Grossi in Tehran. The President made reference to the West using Iran's nuclear program as a pretext for exerting pressure on Tehran.

He also made mention of the benefits of nuclear technology in industries of agriculture, medicine, and several other domains of productivity, noting that the program is valuable to the population's welfare.

Raisi further underscored the fact that "Israel" has been using the nuclear issue as a pretext to pressure Iran via sanctions yet the zionist regime itself does not live up to any of its commitments on matters pertaining to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

The President also recalled that the US was the first to withdraw from the nuclear agreement, violating the 2015 deal and that the EU failed to live up to their commitments under the deal as well.

He noted that Iran has by far shown the most commitment to the nuclear agreement as compliance with the deal has successively been validated by 15 different IAEA reports.

IAEA chief Grossi said he expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and that further bilateral relations between Tehran and the agency are required in the future.

Grossi added that it is well known who is truly responsible for the situation on the JCPOA and that expanding relations between Iran and the agency is the best way to respond to them.
