ICJ must force 'Israel' to end war on Gaza: Julio Diaz to Al Mayadeen
The Secretary General of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain, Julio Diaz, says that due to the influence of the United States and its allies, reforming or pressuring the United Nations to make decisions against "Israel" is a challenge.
The Secretary-General of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain, Julio Diaz, said on Friday that what “Israel” is doing in Gaza is not an aggression, but a genocide.
In his statement to Al Mayadeen, Diaz expressed his hope that the International Court of Justice would issue a decision to halt the Israeli aggression against Gaza, emphasizing that the failure of the court to rule in favor of Gaza would indicate a submission to imperialism.
Concerning his party's stance on the Resistance, he stated, "We endorse the Palestinian Resistance against the imperialism that backs Israel." He emphasized the importance of the Spanish government supporting the two-state solution, but also pointed out that, contrary to this position, the government is supporting operations in the Red Sea.
Diaz comments on the international communities
The Secretary-General commented on the positions of the Spanish government, expressing dissatisfaction and stating that they were insufficient, also criticizing the government for supporting the United States' actions on multiple occasions.
The European Union's margin is very narrow, Diaz explained, as he continued that the people in Europe played a major role in impacting the European governments' decision regarding the Israeli aggression against Gaza. In this regard, he added that the United States and its allies control the United Nations and it is very difficult to change it or push it to decide against “Israel.”
He called out the Arab kingdoms for their absent role in supporting Gaza and failing to play a role in stopping the aggression, stressing that humanity must stand against the Israeli genocide and war of famine against the people of Gaza.
The resistance axis
Concerning the role played by the Resistance Axis in countering Israeli aggression, the Secretary-General of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain said, "The actions of the Resistance in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran serve as a profound lesson in human solidarity."
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that on the 112th day of the Israeli aggression, the Israeli genocidal war against the Strip has claimed the lives of 26,083 Palestinians with the number of injuries reaching a staggering 64,487 since October 7.
Today, the United Nations will announce its decision on the request presented by South Africa to enforce emergency measures against the Israeli entity. The entity is facing charges before the International Court of Justice for genocide crimes in its aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The forthcoming ruling will center on the urgent intervention sought by South Africa to halt the crimes done by "Israel" against the Palestinians. However, it should be noted that the ruling would not delve into determining whether genocide has occurred.
