Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran's steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their resistance in a meeting held Monday with Jamil Mezher, Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

During their meeting in Tehran, Araghchi said that Iran would continue backing the Palestinian cause "in all political, diplomatic, legal, and international forums," particularly through regional and international institutions, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

"The Islamic Republic views the Popular Front as one of the oldest and most committed resistance movements against the Zionist occupation," said Araghchi. "We hold deep respect for this movement, its martyred secretary-general, and its imprisoned current leader."

He added that the developments following the Al Aqsa Flood Operation and "Israel's" ongoing war on Gaza "have restored the Palestinian issue to its rightful place at the heart of regional, Islamic, and international concerns." Araghchi expressed Iran's firm belief that "the final victory will belong to the Palestinian people and their resistance, despite the horrific crimes committed by the Zionist enemy."

Jamil Mezher, in turn, conveyed the greetings of PFLP Secretary-General Ahmad Saadat, who has been held in Israeli prisons for over 20 years. He thanked Iran for its unwavering support and stated, "Despite genocidal crimes and the occupier's use of starvation and thirst as weapons against innocent women and children, the Palestinian people remain steadfast. We will never allow the Zionist regime to realize its malicious goals."

On behalf of the Palestinian people, Mezher extended gratitude to the Iranian leadership and people "for standing firmly alongside Palestine and its resistance."

In a related development, Major General Hossein Salami, commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also received Mezher during the visit. The meeting further underlined the close relationship between Iran and the Palestinian Resistance movements, with Salami reportedly reiterating Tehran's commitment to supporting the Axis of Resistance against Israeli occupation and Western intervention in the region.
