The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, declared in a statement on Monday that their fighters ambushed the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip. This resulted in casualties, including both fatalities and injuries, among IOF troops. The fighters subsequently withdrew to their bases safely.

Al-Qassam elaborated on the details of the ambush executed by its Resistance fighters. It was highlighted that as soon as the Zionist special force sought refuge in a residence in the Bureij camp for rest, positioned in front of which were occupation vehicles, the ambush was carried out.

During the confrontation, the Resistance fighters caught the IOF soldiers off guard, unleashing a hail of bullets on them and shelling their fortifications. This resulted in casualties among the Israeli forces.

The al-Qassam Brigades also declared that they have taken control of an Israeli drone conducting an intelligence mission in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. Furthermore, an Israeli Merkava tank was targeted with an al-Yassin shell north of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Al-Quds Brigades confront IOF in Khan Younis

For their part, the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, released a statement confirming that their fighters have been engaging in fierce confrontations since the early hours of Monday with the occupation forces on the front lines situated to the east and north of Khan Younis.

The Brigades also announced that they targeted a gathering of occupation soldiers and vehicles with Badr 1 rockets, east of al-Bureij Camp. Meanwhile, the Mujahideen Brigades said that its fighters targeted IOF military sites and vehicles with mortar shells, southeast of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

The National Resistance Brigades' Omar al-Qasim Brigades engaged in intense confrontations with the occupation forces, which took place east of the al-Maghazi camp and southeast of Khuza'a, resulting in several casualties.

The Brigades highlighted that at the central Khan Younis axis, they participated in confrontations and successfully launched an RPG shell at one of the Israeli army vehicles, scoring a direct hit.

Resistance rockets strike 'Tel Aviv' at midnight

The Palestinian Resistance marked the end of 2023 by launching a missile salvo from Gaza at exactly midnight at the beginning of the year 2024.

Israeli media reported that a total of 27 rockets were fired from Gaza during the night, with 18 getting intercepted, and 9 landing in the '48 Palestinian territories.

Despite the measures taken by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) to undermine the Resistance's infrastructure in Gaza, Hamas demonstrated its persistent potential to threaten Israeli settlements in the mainland of occupied Palestine.

Early on Sunday, the Palestinian Resistance pushed the number of dead Israeli soldiers, since the start of the Israeli ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, to 172, as two Israeli occupation reservists were killed as announced by the Israeli occupation forces spokesperson.
