IOF attacks Palestinian fishing boat off Gaza
IOF's navy fired heavily at a Palestinian fishing boat off the shores of Gaza, causing it to burn completely.
The Palestinian fishermen union said Sunday that the Israeli occupation’s naval guards have opened fire at two fishermen on board of a Palestinian fish boat, completely burning and destroying it.
“The boat was completely burnt and destroyed, I think it may have sunk but fishermen on board jumped and swam to the shore," Chairman of the fishermen union Nizar Ayyash said to Reuters.
Ayyash confirmed the IOF's navy constantly harasses Palestinian fishermen, in an attempt to deprive them of their only source of income and their right to work.
Palestinian human rights organizations have constantly warned that IOF's navy imposes many restrictions that limit Palestinian fishermen’s ability to work, and continuously kill, persecute and chase them down, not to mention burning their boats.
It is also worth noting that the Israelis refuse to permit access to new boats and equipment to the Strip.
The number of Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Strip exceeds 4,500 people, according to the Fishermen's Syndicate.
Earlier today, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the town of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank and fired live bullets at Palestinian youths, killing two of them and wounding nine others, two of them critically.
Since the beginning of 2022, the IOF killed more than 70 Palestinians, 27 of them from Jenin and its camp including Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was covering an Israeli raid in Jenin.
