IOF authorities relocate Freedom Tunnel detainees on op. anniversary
Three detainees who were involved in Operation Freedom Tunnel were relocated, yet they remain in solitary confinement.
Israeli authorities transferred three Palestinian detainees who were involved in the famous Gilboa Prison escape, the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported on Monday.
The three detainees were all transferred from solitary confinement to yet another solitary confinement in separate Israeli prisons.
Zakaria al-Zubaidi was transferred from solitary confinement in the Ramon Prison to the Ayalon-Ramla Prison, where he will also be held in solitary confinement. Al-Zubaidi has been subject to a series of relocations since he was re-arrested after Operation Freedom Tunnel on September 6, 2021.
His son Mohammad was assassinated a few days ago by Israeli occupation forces in an airstrike that targeted a vehicle in Tubas, in the West Bank.
Mohammed al-Arida, another Palestinian detainee who participated in the Gilboa Prison escape, was transferred from solitary confinement in the Ashkelon Prison to solitary confinement in the Ramon Prison.
Israeli prison authorities also transferred Mahmoud Shreim from the Ramon Prison to the Ayalon-Ramla Prison, where he will also be held in solitary confinement. Shreim was accused of facilitating Operation Freedom Tunnel.
Three years ago, six Palestinian detainees, most of whom were serving life sentences in Israeli prisons, managed to dig a tunnel out of the heavily guarded Gilboa Prison. All six prisoners were eventually detained by Israeli occupation forces after large-scale manhunts that lasted for days.

'Sde Teiman is a glimpse of Israeli terror'
Earlier on Monday, the Leadership Committee of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's (PIJ) detainees in Israeli prisons delivered a message to the public in a letter broadcast exclusively by Al Mayadeen Network.
The message offers an insight into the suffering experienced by Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, especially under the harsh policies employed by Israeli authorities since October 7, 2023.
"What is happening in prisons and detention centers is beyond imagination and unprecedented throughout the history of the Palestinian national struggle," the letter reads.
According to the commission, Palestinian detainees are subject to severe physical abuse, humiliation, starvation, deliberate medical neglect, and widespread untreated diseases.
"The leaked footage from 'Sde Teiman' is just a glimpse of the terror, assaults, and violence we endure in these prisons," the commission said in reference to the detention camp where Palestinians abducted from the Gaza Strip are being held and tortured.
The commission added that such practices against Palestinian detainees are not limited to one detention center or prison.
It warned of "assassination attempts" against imprisoned Palestinian leaders who are isolated in "unknown cells, locations, and camps."
