Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) are intensifying their aggression on Tulkarm for the 19th day, sending military reinforcements, reconnaissance drones, and raiding houses in the western and eastern neighborhoods, as well as the vicinity of the old mosque.
Israeli infantry forces deployed heavily after midnight in the market center and on Duar al-Alimi Street, conducting extensive searches and sweeps, as armored vehicles infiltrated the Danaba suburb, raiding houses and performing field investigations on residents in the area.
Meanwhile, occupation forces are still controlling several residential buildings in the eastern neighborhoods, utilizing them as military outposts while enforcing a strict siege on the Tulkarm refugee camp and Nur Shams refugee camp, which turned into military zones.
Knesset pushes bill to name West Bank 'Judea and Sumeria'
The Israeli parliament has given preliminary approval to a bill forwarded by MK Simcha Rothman to change the name of the West Bank to the renamed "Judea and Sumeria" in Israeli governmental documents.
Rothman called the West Bank naming to be a historical distortion that must be fixed, adding that "The fact that the official legal language of the State of Israel still includes the disgraceful term ‘West Bank’ is an insult to the Knesset, the Jewish people, and our history."
The bill asserts that "Judea and Samaria are an inseparable part of the historic homeland of the Jewish people," claiming that they have important historical significance in Jewish history.
The bill will now be referred to the Knesset Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee for further deliberation before proceeding to additional readings.
Forced displacement and rising deaths
The IOF keep destroying residential buildings in the Jenin refugee camp, leaving many families homeless and worsening the humanitarian crisis as the Israeli campaign on the West Bank continues to intensify.
UNRWA is warning that the Jenin refugee camp has been almost emptied due to the Israeli attacks, as occupation forces ramp up their violations of civilians including storming houses, looting, demolitions, and imposing a siege preventing the entry of food and medicine to the area.
70 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the beginning of 2025, said the Health Ministry in Palestine, adding that most of them are from Jenin; among those killed are a woman, ten children, and two elderly.
The Health Ministry reported 38 martyrs in Jenin, 15 in Tubas, six in Nablus, five in Tulkarm, three in al-Khalil, two in Beit Lahm, and one in al-Quds.
