Israeli occupation forces detained at dawn on Saturday Palestinian Legislative Council member Jamal al-Tiraoui and his sons during a brutal raid on the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to local media reports.
In a parallel crackdown, IOF also detained Muhammad Hussein Abu Hadid, the head of the Municipality Workers Union in al-Khalil and a former detainee, after storming the city. His detention adds to a widening campaign of detentions targeting Palestinian political and social figures.
Palestinian outlets reported that heavily armed troops raided the Old Askar refugee camp east of Nablus, while additional units carried out house raids in the nearby Balata refugee camp. Residents said soldiers broke into several homes and conducted extensive searches amid a tense atmosphere.
Separately, the Palestinian WAFA news agency said on Friday evening that several Palestinians suffered from tear gas inhalation as Israeli invading units stormed the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Beit Lahm in the West Bank, leading to confrontations with Palestinians.
Not isolated incidents
On Friday, Israeli special forces had infiltrated Tal, surrounding the home of Walid Ishtiyeh, followed by a raid involving several jeeps and military vehicles, killing 24-year-old police officer Younes Walid Muhammad Ishtiyeh, whose body was reportedly withheld by Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Local media reported that Israeli occupation forces fired live rounds and sound grenades around the besieged house, injuring Ishtiyeh and preventing Palestinian Red Crescent teams from reaching him. He was later announced dead.
In a related development, multiple Israeli military vehicles raided several areas in Nablus, focusing on the Rafidia district and Al-Academy Street, setting up temporary checkpoints before withdrawing.
Detainments in Tubas, Jenin
Simultaneously, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian youth after surrounding his home near the al-Fara’a camp, south of Tubas.
Kamal Bani Odeh, director of the Tubas Prisoners’ Club, reported that 25-year-old Mahdi Ibrahim Mutlaq al-Aydi was kidnapped from his home following a raid by Israeli special forces, supported by reinforcements from the Hamra military checkpoint.
In Jenin, Israeli occupation forces also surrounded a house in the western town of Burqin and detained a Palestinian youth. Local sources stated that a special Israeli unit entered the town in a white vehicle with Palestinian license plates, besieged the house, and ordered a young man to surrender over loudspeakers at the main entrance. Reinforcements later arrived, and soldiers were deployed to nearby rooftops.
Local media later confirmed that Israeli forces had detained Amin Muhammad Sahmoud from the house before withdrawing from the town.
'Israel' killed three Palestinian youths today
In addition to Ishtiyeh, Israeli occupation forces killed two Palestinian children on Friday after opening fire on them during a military raid on the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied al-Quds, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The Ministry identified the two martyrs as Amro Khaled Ahmad al-Marbooh, 18, and Sami Ibrahim Sami Mashaikh, 16.
Palestinians held a funeral procession for the martyrs in Kafr Aqab, starting from the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.
It was reported that Israeli settlers carried out a series of violent attacks on Palestinians and their property in multiple areas of the occupied West Bank since Friday morning.
From Masafer Yatta to Beit Lahm, Ramallah, Nablus, and Tulkarm, attacks involved escalating Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
