The number of Palestinian detainees in the West Bank and occupied al-Quds has risen to more than 7,700 since October 7, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society confirmed on Saturday.

In a press statement, the two prisoners' rights organizations clarified that the tally of detentions has reached approximately 7,740, pointing out that this figure includes Palestinians detained during Israeli occupation forces' raids on homes, and at military checkpoints, as well as those who surrendered under pressure and threat and those taken as hostages.

The organizations noted that the data include those still detained by the Israeli occupation forces, as well as those released later.

The statement mentioned that Israeli occupation forces have detained at least 15 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank from Friday until Saturday morning, including members of the family of martyr Mujahid Barakat, who carried out an operation in Ramallah on Friday, as well as former prisoners.

According to the statement, the detentions were carried out across various governorates, including al-Khalil, Ramallah, Beit Lahm, Tubas, Nablus, and al-Quds.

This comes as Israeli occupation forces continue to conduct widespread incursions and brutal assaults during arrest campaigns, accompanied by ruthless beatings and threats against detainees and their families, alongside extensive acts of sabotage and destruction of citizens' homes.
