Israeli forces shot and killed a 25-year-old Palestinian youth and injured a teenager on Friday night during a military raid on the city of Jenin, in the West Bank, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
The PRCS reported that its medical crews transferred the body of the slain youth after he was shot in the abdomen and neck by live Israeli fire.
Local sources said that an Israeli military unit raided multiple neighborhoods in Jenin, opened fire on residents, and killed a Palestinian youth. The Ministry of Health later identified the victim as Mohammad Adnan Salameh, aged 25.
During the same raid, a 15-year-old child sustained injuries from live bullet shrapnel in the lower extremities near the Cinema Roundabout. He was evacuated to hospital by Red Crescent crews.
Rising death toll in Jenin since January
With the killing of Salameh, the total number of Palestinian casualties in Jenin governorate has reached 50 since the start of the Israeli aggression on the city and its camp on January 21, 2025. The aggression has also impacted several nearby towns and villages.
Extensive home destructions in Jenin
As part of the continued military operations, Israeli forces have completely destroyed more than 600 homes in Jenin camp and partially demolished approximately 1,000 housing units, displacing around 22,000 residents to Jenin city and surrounding areas.
The Red Crescent in Jenin continues to play a critical role in responding to the growing humanitarian needs caused by the ongoing aggression.
