IOF kill 9 in Gaza, death toll rises to 49,747 martyrs since Oct. 7

Nine Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting two homes in the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli occupation continues its relentless war on the Palestinian territory and its people.
Our correspondent also reported that one person was injured by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire in the Azbat Abed Rabbo area, east of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the area east of the town of al-Fukhari, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, was targeted by Israeli military vehicles' gunfire.
This raises the death toll in Gaza to 49,747 martyrs and 113,213 injuries since October 7, 2023, as per Gaza's Ministry of Health. In its daily statistical report, the ministry confirmed that 130 martyrs, including two bodies retrieved, and 263 injuries were reported at Gaza's hospitals over the past 48 hours.
The ministry also pointed out that the death toll since the Israeli occupation renewed its aggression on March 18, 2025, has reached 634 martyrs and 1,172 injuries.
'Israel' plotting major Gaza invasion with US support: Israeli media
This comes amid reports suggesting "Israel" is preparing to implement a "major plan" outlined by the occupation military's new chief of staff, Major General Eyal Zamir, regarding the Gaza Strip, Israeli daily Haaretz reported on Saturday.
According to the report, Zamir’s plan involves a large-scale ground offensive in Gaza, utilizing several divisions and a significant number of reserve units, under the belief that it may finally achieve the goal that "Israel" has failed to accomplish for nearly a year and a half since the last war: the complete destruction of Hamas' authority and military capabilities.
The paper suggested that "Israel" is gradually revealing its true intentions, signaling a large-scale step toward the occupation and full control of Gaza. While negotiations appear unlikely to yield results, "Israel" is preparing the ground for a major military escalation.
Simultaneously, Haaretz noted that right-wing factions in the Israeli government are pushing for the return of settlements in Gaza and for the forced expulsion of Palestinians, which would be presented as "voluntary migration" with the backing of US President Donald Trump.
