Palestinian Samir Awni Aslan, 45, was killed on Thursday after being fatally shot in the chest by Israeli occupation soldiers in Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Al-Quds.

Sources from the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah confirmed the arrival of Aslan, who died of a bullet that hit him directly in the heart after a large force of occupation soldiers stormed his house and brutally detained his son, Ramzi.

The martyr's brother told reporters in the courtyard of the Palestine Medical Complex that Aslan was martyred while he was standing at the balcony of his house checking on his son after Israeli occupation forces blindfolded and detained him.

In a press statement, Qalandia Media Center said Israeli occupation forces targeted the martyr after he tried to defend his son Ramzi who was being illegally detained by the IOF as part of a fierce campaign being carried out by the occupation forces in Qalandia camp, then detained his bleeding body and prevented the people from providing him with first aid.

On their part, national forces announced a comprehensive strike in the Qalandia camp to mourn Aslan and denounce the continuous crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian people.

With Aslan's martyrdom, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces since the beginning of this year has risen to seven, including three children.

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that 21-year-old Ahmad Amer Abu Junaid was martyred after succumbing to his wounds, which he had sustained after the Israeli occupation shot him after a raid on the Balata refugee camp in Nablus.

It is noteworthy that in 2022, 224 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli occupation forces, including 59 from Jenin Governorate.
