A Palestinian child was killed, at midnight yesterday, with Israeli gunfire, as the occupation forces stormed the city of Qalqilya, in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of the child, Faris Sharhabeel Abu Samra (14 years), after being shot in the head, as confrontations broke out with the invading occupation forces in Al-Naqqar neighborhood in the city.

The Ministry reported that the child’s injury was critical after receiving a gunshot wound to the head, and he was subsequently transferred to the hospital, before he succumbed to his wounds and his martyrdom was announced.

A large force of the Israeli occupation army had earlier stormed Al-Naqqar neighborhood, resulting in confrontations with Palestinian youths, during which the occupation soldiers fired live bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas at residents and houses.

With the martyrdom of Abu Samra, the number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of this year has risen to 202, including 37 children and 11 women.

At dawn today, Israeli occupation forces launched a mass arrest campaign in several areas in the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds targeting dozens of Palestinians, according to the Prisoners Information Office. 

According to the Ministry of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners, the arrests included children and a number of released prisoners, with the total number of arrests in the past two days reaching more than 55.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces arrested the released prisoner, Mohammad Fahmy Sorour, 30, from the town of Ni'lin, west of Ramallah, after they intercepted the car he was driving on his way back from work.

In Al-Tira neighborhood, journalist Yousef Shihadeh was wounded by Israeli occupation gunfire while covering the confrontations that broke out after the Israeli occupation forces stormed the neighborhood in Ramallah.

The occupation forces had stormed the neighborhood and set up a military checkpoint, while a number of settlers stormed the area.

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupation forces fired bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas at dozens of unarmed Palestinian youths who came out to confront the incursion.
