The Israeli occupation forces on Monday raided the homes of dozens of Palestinian prisoners and freed prisoners, confiscating their belongings and taking huge sums of money in the process, the Palestinian Ministry of Detainees and ex-Detainees said, condemning the actions carried out by the occupation forces.

"This barbaric behavior is a reflection of the state of confusion experienced by the Israeli occupation's security services in the face of the steadfastness of the prisoners and their futile attempts to demoralize their families," the ministry said in a statement.

Amjad Abu Asab, the head of the Family Committee of Prisoners from Al-Quds said the occupation forces were raiding the homes of prisoners and liberated prisoners, confiscating a wide array of belongings, from money to cars, gold, and motorcycles, all the while raking through their homes and wreaking havoc in the process.

The IOF's raids included provocative searches of the prisoners' families, vandalizing and searching the homes of more than 16 prisoners and former prisoners.

Among the homes raided by the Israeli occupation forces was that of Ahmad Manasra's family, the young Palestinian brutally detained by the Israeli occupation forces at the age of 13.

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the number of prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons has amounted to about 5,000 prisoners languishing in 23 prisons and detention and investigation centers.

As of June 12, 2023, there are 31 female prisoners and about 160 minors distributed in "Ofer", "Megiddo", and "Damon" prisons, and 1,083 administrative detainees, including three female prisoners and 19 children.

There are 11 released prisoners, and they are among the veterans of the prisoners who were arrested before the Oslo Accord and were released in 2011, then rearrested in 2014, most notable among them is prisoner Nael Al-Barghouti, who is serving the longest sentence in the history of the captive movement. He entered his 43rd year in the occupation prisons, of which he spent 34 years back-to-back.

The Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies said in May that the number of Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment in Israeli prisons rose to 556 after occupation courts issued life imprisonment sentences against two prisoners from Jenin.

Riyad Al-Ashqar, the director of the Center noted that Israeli occupation forces had arrested Al-Rifai and Sbeihat on May 8, 2022, after a 3-day search operation following an alleged stabbing operation in the "Elad" area that killed four illegal settlers and wounded three others.

According to Al-Ashqar, a number of life-sentenced prisoners have been detained for more than 25 years, most of which are veteran prisoners, and dozens of other prisoners have been detained for more than 20 years, noting that the majority of longest-serving prisoners are serving life sentences.

He explained that the life sentence is a life imprisonment sentence that the occupation defines as 99 years and imposes on security prisoners whom it accuses of carrying out commando operations.
