Pezeshkian: You want the countries of this region to turn on each other by handing out bombs and missiles, and then you say you are peace-seekers?

The director of Al Mayadeen's bureau in occupied Palestine, Nasser al-Laham, confirmed that Israeli occupation forces assaulted his wife and children after storming his house in Beit Lahm, in the southern occupied West Bank, on Tuesday morning.

The occupation arrested al-Laham's two sons, Bassel and Bassil, later releasing Bassil and insisting on confiscating Bassel's phone.

Al-Laham emphasized that his children are experiencing what all the Palestinian youths in the West Bank are experiencing, noting that he felt hesitant to discuss what happened with his family considering the mass suffering of fellow Palestinians in Gaza.

He continued, "When one sees homes being demolished and innocent lives lost in Gaza, it would be extremely hard to compare the suffering of Gazans to mere arrests and physical assaults."

“The occupation’s retaliation against the people of the #WestBank and the journalists is an expected reaction to Israel’s defeat on October 7.”

Providing details of the attack on the al-Laham family's home and the subsequent arrest of his sons, al-Laham explained, "An Israeli military force raided my house," despite being aware that it also housed a broadcasting studio. He went on to describe how the Israeli occupation forces ransacked his home, conducted abrupt searches in his sons' rooms, and intimidated the children.

An hour and a half after the arrest of Bassil and Bassel al-Laham, Bassil was released after being subjected to beating with rifle butts, while Bassel, the secretary of the Fatah movement at Beit Lahm University, remained in detention.

Al-Laham pointed out that the occupation used sledgehammers to break through walls and doors of the homes that were raided in Beit Lahm, likening the situation to "military operations, not civilian arrests."

Elsewhere in his remarks, the director of Al Mayadeen's bureau in occupied Palestine, elaborated on the targeting of individuals in the occupied West Bank, stating that it impacts all Palestinian factions and anyone actively involved on the ground who expresses support for Gaza.

He confirmed that this serves as a clear message by the Israelis to Palestinian factions in the West Bank, particularly Fatah, that showing solidarity with Gaza and organizing demonstrations in its support is prohibited.

However, this situation only strengthens the resolve of the West Bank's residents to champion their cause and participate in alleviating the suffering of Gaza, its people, and its children, he tersely stated.

'Israel' demolish al-Arouri's home

On the other hand, Israeli media reported at dawn today that Israeli occupation security forces raided the residence of Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of the Hamas political bureau, in al-Aroura, Ramallah, located in the northern occupied West Bank.

Shortly after, the Israeli occupation forces demolished the residence of Saleh al-Arouri, Sputnik reported, citing a local Palestinian source.

Israeli occupation forces sealed off the entire area, restricting movement, and closed off adjacent roads, the same source added.

The source said as quoted by Sputnik that this action is part of "Israel's" ongoing policy of retribution against Palestinians, spanning 25 days of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, stressing that the Israeli aggression also involved extensive arrests targeting numerous individuals across different areas of the occupied West Bank.

Earlier, Israeli occupation forces conducted raids in various areas of the occupied West Bank, which sparked confrontations.

In Nablus, the IOF raided the Nablus Speciality Hospital, and in Jenin, Palestinian Resistance fighters confronted the IOF in the town of Qabatiya.

Moreover, in Tulkarm, a joint statement between al-Quds Brigades - Tulkarm Brigade and al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades confirmed that "we lured an Israeli infantry force into a tight ambush in Shuweika."

The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank alone since October 7 has reached 114, and more than 1,900 have been injured.
