IOF say officer killed, soldier seriously injured in Gaza battles
This brings the total number of Israeli occupation soldiers killed in Gaza since the start of the ground incursion into the Strip to 133.
The Israeli occupation military confirmed on Wednesday that a reserve officer with the rank of captain was killed Tuesday in the ongoing battles in the southern Gaza Strip and that another soldier was injured seriously.
The spokesperson for the occupation military identified the killed officer as 32-year-old Captain Reserve Lior Sivan, a combat officer in the Harel Brigade’s 363 Batallion.
According to the spokesperson, an infantryman in the Givati Brigade’s Rotem Batallion was seriously injured during battles in southern Gaza.
This brings the total number of Israeli occupation soldiers killed in Gaza since the start of the ground incursion into the Strip to 133.
On Tuesday, Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades said that its fighters targeted an Israeli Hummer vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza, resulting in the killing and wounding of all its occupants after it was completely engulfed in flames. As the IOF attempted to rush to the attacked unit, the fighters struck the rescue force with an anti-personnel missile, the Brigades mentioned in a statement.
Furthermore, the Resistance group confirmed that the total Israeli casualties in the neighborhood were 12 soldiers dead and wounded. Al-Qassam Brigades also announced the targeting of an Israeli military bulldozer and the killing of its driver in the Sheikh Ridwan neighborhood.
On its part, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement's al-Quds Brigades announced shelling a gathering of Israeli occupation forces in the east of Khan Younis axes with rocket barrages and heavy-caliber mortars.
The Resistance group confirmed direct casualties among the targeted Israeli forces, noting that the Israeli helicopters intervened to transport the wounded.
