IOF say one of their drones, Sky Rider, crashed in Syria’s Quneitra
The Israeli army statement did not disclose the reason for the drone's crash or whether its wreckage had been retrieved.
The spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army, Daniel Hagari, confirmed on Monday the crash of a Sky Rider drone in the Quneitra area inside Syrian territories.
The Israeli army statement did not disclose the reason for the drone's crash or whether its wreckage had been retrieved but mentioned that an investigation into the incident has been opened and there is no fear of information leaks as a result.
Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Syria reported that efforts are underway to dismantle the Israeli drone that crashed in Quneitra province.
The drone, of a Skylark model, is manufactured by Elbit Systems and operated by the Israeli occupation army's Artillery Corps for reconnaissance, surveillance, and intelligence-gathering missions.
In 2017, the Israeli army decided to suspend the use of Sky Rider drones after several crashing incidents in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, before later resuming their operations.
It is noteworthy that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah - and Palestinian resistance factions have claimed responsibility for downing several types of Israeli drones since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.
Most recently, Hezbollah announced on June 10 the shooting down of an Israeli Hermes 900 drone in southern Lebanon airspace, the third of its kind to be brought down by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, in addition to two Hermes 450 drones and two Skylark drones.
