The spokesperson for the Israeli occupation forces admitted Wednesday evening to the killing of an officer, a platoon leader in the Golani Brigade's 51st Battalion, along with five other soldiers from the same battalion during battles in southern Lebanon on Wednesday.

Israeli media reported that Golani forces entered a building in southern Lebanon and were met with close-range gunfire.

According to details released by the Israeli Army Radio, the incident occurred in the western sector and began at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon entering, Golani Brigade forces were fired upon by four Hezbollah fighters who emerged from a tunnel opening.

Simultaneously, Hezbollah fighters opened fire from nearby buildings, launching an anti-armor missile at the building.

The Army Radio stated that the incident concluded at 1 p.m., leaving six killed soldiers and one injured, with casualties evacuated under the Lebanese group's fire.

The Israeli channel KAN reported that the incident took place in the area where the military expanded its operations the previous day.

Israeli media mentioned that four other Golani soldiers are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.

On Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance's Operations Room vowed that the decision by the Israeli military to move to the second phase of the "ground maneuver" in southern Lebanon would only result in further losses for Israeli forces, underscoring Hezbollah's readiness to counter any offensive.

Among these, 21 cases were registered in the north of occupied Palestine (within the last 24 hours), and 202 injuries have been recorded since the last update, the ministry indicated.

It indicated that the total number of hospital admissions since October 10, 2023, has reached 22,047.

The injuries were distributed across several hospitals, including Ziv in Safad, Rambam in Haifa, Carmel, and others.
