Israeli occupation forces continue to escalate their military operations in the occupied West Bank, particularly in cities and towns in the northern region, such as Jenin, Tulkarm, and Tubas.
Fires broke out in Jenin refugee camp after occupation forces set several homes ablaze, triggering a mass displacement of residents amid systematic destruction.
According to journalistic sources, Israeli forces opened fire on civilians returning to check on their homes in the camp, further exacerbating the suffering of those who had fled due to the ongoing aggression.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that three Palestinians were injured as a result of the continued assault on the camp, while Israeli forces persisted in their movements around the area and reinforced their military presence.
Additionally, the occupation military has placed Hebrew-language signs on streets it forcibly established after demolishing a significant number of homes in the Jenin refugee camp and its surrounding areas.
In another field development, Israeli forces and military vehicles stormed the city of Tubas, while special forces infiltrated the town of Aqaba and surrounded a house.
In Tulkarm’s Nur Shams refugee camp, Palestinian Khaled Mustafa Amer was killed following an armed confrontation with Israeli forces, while special forces also raided the city of Qalqilya.
Earlier, the UN agency UNRWA warned of the increasing forced displacement of Palestinians in the northern West Bank, reporting that 40,000 refugees have been displaced since mid-2023. The agency confirmed that the Jenin refugee camp has become nearly empty due to the intensifying Israeli attacks.
Israeli forces have been waging their assault on Jenin, Tulkarm, and Tubas for over a month, resulting in dozens of Palestinians killed and wounded, as well as numerous detentions.
The occupation military has escalated its violations against civilians, including storming homes, looting their contents, and demolishing some, in addition to imposing severe movement restrictions and seizing buildings to convert them into military outposts and sniper positions.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Economy revealed that Israeli forces demolished 48 economic establishments out of a total of 126 in the West Bank during January.
