Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Friday that indirect talks between Tehran and Washington will resume on Sunday, with the Sultanate of Oman set to determine the venue and timing.
Araghchi explained that talks were gradually moving into the detailed phase, adding that “as we advance, more discussions and assessments are needed regarding the raised issues.”
He emphasized that Iran’s positions in the talks remain “consistent and principled,” but noted that “we are receiving contradictory messages from the other side.”
According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, a member of the Iranian negotiating team said that Tehran agreed to hold the fourth round of talks on Sunday based on a proposal made by Oman's Foreign Minister.
Iran dismisses false accusations
On Thursday, Araghchi categorically rejected allegations circulated by US-based Fox News and the exiled opposition group Mujahedin-e-Khalq, also known as MEK, claiming the discovery of a new nuclear facility in Iran.
He dismissed the reports as part of a broader campaign to undermine the talks.
According to Araghchi, the resurfacing of such claims is no coincidence. He directly accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of attempting to derail the progress made in US-Iran discussions, asserting that the Israeli leader is deliberately intervening in diplomatic processes to dictate US policy.
“Like clockwork, more Very Scary Satellite Images are being circulated as Iran-US indirect nuclear talks are set to resume,” Araghchi said in a post on X.
