Iran among world’s top five drone powers: Senior general
Iranian top general praises the locally-made drones that can "carry out various missions with great accuracy and flight endurance."
The top general of Iran has praised the coordinated efforts of the armed forces, academic institutions, and knowledge-based businesses to increase the country's drone strength, claiming that the Islamic Republic is currently one of the top five nations in the world for unmanned aerial vehicles.
Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri told reporters on Sunday that Iran’s drones can carry out various missions with great accuracy and flight endurance.
Baqeri said that the Islamic Republic will proceed with its plans to promote its drone capabilities and cooperate with other countries in the drone industry to meet the country’s needs.
He once more denied rumors that Iran had deployed drones for Russia to use during the war in Ukraine, claiming that such statements were only a form of "psychological warfare" by the adversary.
Apart from the fact that many of these allegations are inaccurate, he said that they accurately highlight Iran's dominant position in the drone business.
However, Iran and Russia have repeatedly denied claims that Tehran has provided Moscow with drones to be used in the Ukraine war.
"Israel" at weakest point ever: Baqeri
Baqeri also said in his Sunday remarks that the Israeli regime has reached its weakest point ever, dismissing recent threatening comments by Israeli officials as valueless.
“The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are fully prepared and powerful, and we will respond decisively to any aggression against our land,” the top general said.
He asserted that Iran has the ability and desire to repel threats and will respond violently to any nation that tries to obstruct Iran's territorial integrity.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the head of Iran's Army, made similar claims on Wednesday, dismissing "Israel's" military threats and asserting that Iran closely and continuously monitors all enemy movements.
“We will give a crushing response to any place from which an attack might originate against the security of the Islamic Republic and its interests," Mousavi said.
