Iran criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Director General, Rafael Grossi, accusing him of complicity in the Western-led campaign of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, criticized Grossi’s recent remark that the agency "did not have any evidence of a systematic effort [by Iran] to move into a nuclear weapon." He called the statement "too little, too late," and denounced what Iran sees as a dangerously politicized role played by the IAEA under Grossi’s leadership.
The Iranian official said Grossi's earlier “biased report,” filled with baseless allegations of non-compliance, was used by the E3 (France, Germany, UK) and the United States to push through a resolution that ultimately served as a pretext for a "genocidal, warmongering regime" to launch an illegal act of war on Iran.

The statement questioned the human cost of this "unjust war of aggression," asking Grossi directly: "Do you know how many innocent Iranians have been killed or maimed as a result of this criminal war?"
Further, Baghaei accused Grossi of betraying the global non-proliferation regime, saying that the IAEA has become a political tool manipulated by non-NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) members to undermine the rights of NPT signatories. "You’ve made the IAEA a partner to this unjust war, a tool of convenience to strip peaceful nations of their rights under Article 4," the statement read.

This is too late, Mr. Grossi: you obscured this truth in your absolutely biased report that was instrumentalize by E3/U.S. to craft a resolution with baseless… pic.twitter.com/A2cQcyqiFy
In a final rebuke, Baghaei demanded accountability and questioned whether Grossi possesses the conscience or impartiality required for his position, suggesting his actions have disqualified him from any potential UN leadership role.
Baghaei released this statement in response to a critical admission that undermines claims by the Israeli occupation and US officials, when Grossi confirmed that there was no evidence Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program.
Speaking to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Tuesday, Grossi reiterated what Iran has long maintained, that the country is not systematically seeking nuclear weapons.
"What we reported was that we did not have any proof of a systematic effort [by Iran] to move toward a nuclear weapon," Grossi stated, aligning his remarks with past IAEA assessments and independent sources.
