Iran denies claims its advisors injured, abducted in Syria's Masyaf
The Iranian embassy in Damascus says only unknown media outlets that support the Israeli occupation regime are disseminating such lies.
No Iranian advisors were injured or abducted in the recent Israeli aggression on Syria, affirmed the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Several Israeli news outlets had reported that Israeli forces recently conducted raids on multiple locations in Syria's Masyaf region and captured two to four Iranians.
A Syrian military source confirmed that at approximately 20:23 on Sunday, Israeli forces launched an airstrike from the direction of northwest Lebanon, targeting several military sites in the central region of Syria.
The director of Masyaf National Hospital, Dr. Fayssal Haidar, told Syria's news agency SANA that 18 people were killed and 37 were injured, six of whom are in critical condition, as a result of the Israeli aggression on several sites in the Masyaf area.
In a statement shared on social media, the Iranian embassy in Damascus indicated that, after 11 months of failure, "Israel" has reached a level of desperation where it resorts to killing children and spreading falsehoods as a means to save itself.
The embassy condemned what it described as the Israeli criminal attack on Syria, affirming that none of the Iranian advisors were harmed.
In addition, the Iranian embassy labeled the Israeli claims as false, adding that only unknown media outlets that support the Israeli occupation regime are disseminating these lies.
On Thursday, an informed source also told Tasnim news agency that reports claiming Israeli forces captured two officials from Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) in Syria are false.
The source firmly rejected the allegations, noting that "no Iranian force has been present in Syria in that claimed location [Masyaf], while that region was the location of presence of the Syrian Army."
"Therefore, the subsequent claim, namely harm to Iranian forces or them being captured, is a complete lie," the source added.
Earlier, Israeli media claimed that Israeli Special Forces conducted a landing operation in the city of Masyaf, infiltrating what was described as an Iranian missile production facility and allegedly capturing officials from the IRGC.
The reports indicated that the raid took place on Sunday, September 8, and included airstrikes around Masyaf in the western countryside of Hama.
