Source refutes Israeli claims of capturing IRGC officials in Syria
Several Israeli news outlets had reported that Israeli forces recently conducted raids on multiple locations in Syria's Masyaf region and captured two to four Iranians.
An informed source told Tasnim news agency on Thursday that reports claiming Israeli forces captured two IRGC officials in Syria are false.
Several Israeli news outlets had reported that Israeli forces recently conducted raids on multiple locations in Syria's Masyaf region and captured two to four Iranians.
Speaking to Tasnim, the source firmly rejected these allegations, noting that "no Iranian force has been present in Syria in that claimed location [Masyaf], while that region was the location of presence of the Syrian Army."
"Therefore, the subsequent claim, namely harm to Iranian forces or them being captured, is a complete lie," the source added.

Earlier in the day, Israeli media claimed that Israeli Special Forces conducted a landing operation in the city of Masyaf, infiltrating what was described as an Iranian missile production facility and allegedly capturing officials from the IRGC.
The reports indicated that the raid took place on Sunday, September 8, and included airstrikes around Masyaf in the western countryside of Hama, resulting in 18 fatalities.
A Syrian military source confirmed that at approximately 20:23 on Sunday, Israeli forces launched an airstrike from the direction of northwest Lebanon, targeting several military sites in the central region of Syria.
