Iran discusses energy issues with Bulgaria and Romania
The three countries address the global energy situation and recent increases in gas and oil prices.
Iranian Petroleum Minister, Javad Owji, met with Bulgarian Energy Minister, Alexander Nikolov, and his Romanian colleague, Virgil-Daniel Popescu, in Baku on Sunday to address the global energy situation and recent increases in gas and oil prices.
According to IRNA the meeting took place on the margins of the 27th Baku Energy Forum, which was held in Azerbaijan's capital from June 2-4.
The three ministers spoke on the ongoing energy crisis created by the war in Ukraine, as well as Western sanctions imposed on Moscow. According to IRNA, the discussions also focused on the export of technical engineering services and equipment, as well as methods to boost bilateral cooperation in other sectors.
The 27th Baku Energy Week Forum focused on the global energy outlook, green energy transition, gas supply, and natural gas exploration in the Caspian area. Over 400 people from 20 nations attended the event.
